The Scandinavian department recently organised a small filmfestival True North. This was the second time the festival unfolded and was in the form of a seminar about how alcohol is portrayed in Nordic culture. The purpose of the open event is to contrast Nordic and Czech society, helping bridge understanding between the two. The event had invited speakers Martin Severýn, Czech actor and Swedish embassy employee, and Icelandic poet-writer Ásgeir Ingólfsson. Inhouse contributors were Radka Stahr, Yrjö Lauranto and Lenka Fárová who all helped shed light on the topic for students and others showing up.
